Peter's First . . .

Yes...

I'm alive. I have not been in the mood to blog lately. Okay, the truth is, I still don't have a computer home during the day (mine is still in need of repairs), so by the time I get access to a computer (at night), I am usually exhausted and just want to do nothing!! My little love (Peter) keeps me busy! He is cruising all over the place, very curious, and always wanting his mommy. He gets upset every time I even turn my back or walk away from him (not to mention when I leave the room)! It is endearing, and also, sometimes, straining. But I love how he cuddles me, kisses me, giggles with me, and truly is my little Dude (and friend).

He's talking more and more; simple phrases and the like. He says "dude," and we have "dude" conversations sometimes, where I say "DUDE!" to him (a word I do, in fact, use often -- and yes, one of my nicknames for him is "Little Dude") and then he says "Dude!" back. It lasts for several minutes and usually ends with me laughing because it is just too cute! He also surprises us with snippets here and there out of nowhere-- like singing "up above" in "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (it seriously sounded on-key, too; he's started singing). We sing, "Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder where you are--" and then he'll sometimes sing "up above" for the next part. He also says "Mama" and "Dada" and thinks it's hilarious to say "Dada" when I tell him (in my funny voice) to say "Mama." It goes on for minutes on end...

Me: Say "Mama!" MAMA!!

Peter: (with a huge grin) DADA!!

Me: MAMAMAMAMA!

Peter: (bigger grin) DADADADADA!!!

Etc, etc.

Basically, he's the cutest ever. Sorry, he's not for sale. EVER!!!

I have SO MANY pictures to catch up (esp. from his bday and his cake shots-- HILARIOUS and yes, he was way into it) it's kind of overwhelming. I'll take it a step at a time, and maybe then I will once again be a blogger! ;)

One Year Ago Today...

Can you believe it?!?!?!? I CAN'T! Today Peter turns ONE and I am a freaked out Mommy. I am super excited he is such a healthy and happy boy (who is right now making lip raspberries instead of taking a nap...), but honestly, I can't believe it's been a year since he came out of my belly and into our world.

Wow.

I'll take pics of him today and post them, but for now, let's just say HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETER! You are a wonderful little boy and a great joy to me! You are fun, funny, great at talking and singing (current favorite songs: Itsy Bitsy and Popcorn Popping [he does the hand signals to both and "sings"/moans :) while we sing]), and so energetic and happy. Everywhere you go, you make people smile (even formerly grumpy people... it pays in public places to have a cute kid; everyone is nice to you!!).
